Celebrating life on the Mendips and surrounding areas
Home
Mendip Times celebrates life on the Mendips and surrounding areas, one of the most unspoiled and historic areas of Britain. From Glastonbury and The Levels to the south to Bristol in the north; from the old port at Uphill in the west to bustling Frome in the east, we cover the magical Mendip Hills and all points around and in between. It’s a very special place to live and work and that is what Mendip Times has reflected since its launch in 2005. The magazine is not part of an anonymous national group but is written and produced by a team of local people, who know and love the area. What a place to be! From the splendour of Wells Cathedral to all our rural cider farms; the flash of trout on Blagdon to the mighty cliffs of Cheddar, with history etched everywhere on the rolling landscape. Mendip has busy commercial and business centres too, as well as cutting edge technology, food and IT companies. Mendip's history, culture and current concerns all come alive in the pages of Mendip Times every month and every free copy is quickly snapped up. The magazine also appears in its entirety on our website, with links to advertisers’ websites and from our editorial pages, giving Mendip a worldwide audience. This is your guide to what’s happening in the Mendip area, with features by a dozen local writers on what makes this such a very special part of England. From big events like the Glastonbury Festival and the Royal Bath and West Show, to harvest homes and carnivals, local arts festivals and caving, table skittles to point to point, we showcase the rich character of the area. No wonder Mendip is growing in popularity with visitors, more used to by-passing us on their way down the M5, and why Mendip Times is now the most popular local magazine in Somerset. With a wealth of attractions to explore, a huge range of outdoor activities and the beautiful AONB protected natural landscape to enjoy, more and more visitors find there’s more to see and do in the Mendip area than they ever imagined. We are happy to share it together with our 100,000 plus local readers – with tens of thousands more online. Mendip Times is the voice of the whole area – local, vocal and proud of it.
